"Delina Fico, millions of dollars from USAID and DASH"/ Vangjeli: Investigations should be launched

"Delina Fico, millions of dollars from USAID and DASH"/ Vangjeli:

The Democratic Party's Anti-Corruption Spokesperson, Genta Vangjeli, has exposed the abuses that Delina Fico, the director of Civil Society Programs, has committed with USAID and DASH funds.

In a statement to the media, the DP requests from the relevant body to launch an investigation into Delina Fico's activity through NGOs in Albania and abroad, as well as into the legality of obtaining monetary values ??from her activity, declared or not, with the ILDKPI over the years.

"Delina Fico, Director of Civil Society Programs at the East-West Management Institute, appears to have received a variable salary, reaching its highest values ??in 2017 at around $129,000 and in 2023 at around $126,000.

This institute has registered 6 projects for Albania, among which we highlight:

1. The 5-year (2016-2021) $10.5 million 'Justice for all' project related to justice reform

2. 18-month project (2020 – 2022) to strengthen media standards and integrity in Albania

3. Project for reducing backlogs and improving efficiency in the Supreme Court (2021-2025).

According to its statements and non-profit status, this institute is also funded by USAID, the State Department, or Soros foundations, and, as we noted above, has had a determining role in intervening in justice, media, and judicial reform.

According to Spending data, the EAST – WEST MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE - Branch in Albania, from 2019 to 2021, has benefited from around 136 thousand euros from the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs as VAT reimbursement (diplomatic corps).

Delina Fico's name is also linked to the network of Soros NGOs in Albania, Kosovo and the United States, which do not appear to have been published in the lady's self-declarations to the ILDKPI and here we mention:

-'Kosovo Women's Network' as a board member over the years

-'Albanian women empowerment network'- board member

-Shelter Center-board member

-EOS Tech Trust – advisory organization

-'Partners Albania for Change and Development' for which he made a statement only in 2014.

-Social Contract Institute SCI

In addition, some of these NGOs have also benefited from public funds, according to Spending Data:

-Gender Alliance for Development Center, 18 thousand euros

-Streh Center, 14 thousand euros

-Reflections, 35 thousand euros
