Chairman of the Agrarian Environmentalist Party, Agron Duka, has made a call to pensioners, regarding the May 11 elections.

The Duke emphasizes that before the bonus, retirees should think about themselves and their children.

In his message on social media, Duka says that the pension increase announced by the Government is a ridiculous amount.

The Duke said that pensioners deserve a dignified pension, in relation to a lifetime of work!

"An open call to Albania's pensioners!

Dear fellow citizens, I am addressing you publicly, first as a citizen of this country, and then as a politician.

Due to the youth exodus, your age group now makes up about 35% of the country's population. For this reason, you are also an important political "target" for the government. With the elections approaching:

The government talked about increasing pensions and set a ridiculous value.

The new year bonus and the spring bonus arrived.

They remembered about pension reform.

They justified that there is no money to increase pensions because private business does not declare real salaries.

Dear pensioners!

You don't just deserve a reward worth a rooster for the holidays. You deserve a dignified pension, commensurate with a lifetime of work!

Even if the government gives you a bonus, don't call it a favor to the prime minister, because that's the tax money your family pays!

When you go to the ballot box, remember that:

Many of you live alone because your children have taken to the ways of the world for a better life.

Many of you depend on the money your children send from abroad to pay for electricity and medicine.

Many of you are longing for your grandchildren who in many cases do not even know Albanian.

And every month, you have to wait in a demeaning line for a free pass, because the government wants you to feel like it's a handout, not a right!

Meanwhile, "those above" who you voted to govern:

They live in luxury and match the color of their shoes with their cars.

They reward each other with fabulous resorts, hotels, and villas.

They appear on screens to show Albania's "progress".

We must stop this rampant abuse!

Your vote counts for you, but also for your children who today work on farms and construction sites around the world.
