Journalist Klodian Tomorri said that the meeting Edi Rama held today with Tirana Municipality employees shows that he is afraid of losing their votes in the May 11 elections.

Invited to a television show, Tomorri said that Rama thinks that the votes of municipality employees may be at risk now that Veliaj is under arrest.

Tomorri added that it is already known in the Socialist Party that they have a war within themselves, but every figure who is behind Rama is being careful not to step out of line so as not to face Rama, who will be facing the door of SPAK.

"I was convinced that the new justice system served Rama, even if unintentionally, in one direction, in creating unity within the party among the highest figures. The highest figures of the Socialist Party (SP) today stand behind Rama not of their own free will, but because they are afraid of SPAK. So those who are dissatisfied, because it is known that they have a war within themselves, but they cannot step out of line because they think that if they step out of line, this will cause SPAK to leave us."

In the case of Erion Veliaj, there is another problem, the municipality is an institution that has a very large apparatus, it has a large number of votes, perhaps Rama thinks that these votes may be at risk now that Veliaj is arrested. One of the reasons why he is doing this is to keep the votes around himself and the SP, despite the fact that this is clearly an illegal demonstration in complete violation of the law, where state employees who by law should be depoliticized are lined up in uniform, with messages, with lists and taken to the square to meet with the prime minister, "said Tomorri./CNA
