"Rama is disappointed by Veliaj"/ Hazizaj: Nervousness towards SPAK

Lawyer Sokol Hazizaj stated today that Rama is in a desperate position due to the recent action taken by SPAK against Mayor Veliaj.

Invited to a television show, Hazizaj linked Prime Minister Rama's nervousness in the speech he gave to Tirana municipality employees on Thursday in "Skënderbej" Square, with the recent actions taken by the special structure, SPAK.

According to Hazizaj, Rama now has no power to protect either Veliaj or himself.

"Rama is in a desperate position because of the recent action taken by SPAK against Mayor Veliaj. It doesn't matter if he is right or not, what leads him to despair is the fact that he has stated that SPAK was created by him and the Socialist Party. Now SPAK is acting against Rama and his colleagues, the most important in this case is Mayor Veliaj. Whether he is right or not with the arrest of Veliaj, this is a matter of investigation.

Undoubtedly, this also includes nervousness towards the activity of SPAK. What we have found since the justice reform in 2016 is that the creation of SPAK, although it was introduced as part of the constitution, is a great surprise for a line-up of institutions that are included within the Constitution.

The approval and acceptance of SPAK was not understood by the majority then, which would have been the first in the filter of this work. Now it has no power to protect either the people or itself", - said Hazizaj./CNA
