"One of the largest projects in the region"/ Balluku inspects the

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, inspected the works at the “Blue 1” Photovoltaic Park in Fier. Balluku, who was with Prime Minister Rama, said that this park is one of the largest projects for the production of solar energy.

The Minister also said that the second phase of solar panel applications has begun and there are currently 2,000 units available.

 

"Here we are at the "Blue 1" park, a project financed by a private investor of 50 megawatts MWh, located on an area of ??78 hectares and in full operation, starting from May 2024. From 2024 to date, it has produced 77 thousand megawatts MWh. It is one of the largest projects in the region, in terms of self-financed solar energy production projects and to be honest, it has become one of the example projects for the entire Albanian energy sector, given that after this project we have had many other applications and some of them have been approved, a good part have started work.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister, something very important that we would like to recall is the whole part of increasing renewable energy capacities in the Republic of Albania, based on energy efficiency, so we remind all citizens that we have started the second phase for solar panel applications. We have 2000 units available and just as we were successful in the first call, we very much hope that these 2000 units will be exhausted as soon as possible and used by citizens for water heating, thus reducing 20-30% of bills , "explained Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku./ CNA
