DP, government accusations/ Muçollari: Toxic substances are trafficked

The DP accuses that toxic waste has once again been trafficked from Albania, through the Port of Durrës.

DP Presidency Member Grigels Muçollari said in a statement that the Italian media reported the day before the seizure of 56 tons of toxic waste at the Port of Ancona, which originated in Albania.

Muçollari said that the real responsible parties are senior government officials, while calling on the Durrës Prosecutor's Office to launch investigations.

"Important Italian media, including the Ansa news agency, reported extensively yesterday about the seizure in the port of Ancona of 56 tons of toxic waste, which had been shipped from Albania. The authorities there are concerned and have taken measures. It is about zinc waste and other metals that are toxic and harmful to the environment. While our authorities are silent.

Once again, it is confirmed that illegal international trafficking of toxic waste is taking place from Albania, from the port of Durres. The waste was hidden behind false labels. The source is again our country. Our neighbors have stopped this trafficking and arrested those involved.
