The member of the Presidency of the DP, Belind Kelliçi, again denounced the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, regarding the affair in the incinerator of Tirana, which does not exist.

In a statement to the media, Kelliçi said that the documents prove that the Municipality of Tirana has deliberately failed the concession of the Tirana Incinerator.

He said that the Ministry of Infrastructure addressed Veliaj on July 10, 2023, with a letter, two members of the municipality in the Project Implementation Unit, the structure that monitors the waste project, have blocked the work for more than two years .

"On July 10, 2023, Belinda Balluku addressed a letter to Erion Veliaj where she expressly told him that the two members of the Municipality of Tirana in NJZP have been blocking the work of this structure for more than two years. And so that you understand more clearly the importance of this structure, I am reading you a part of the letter:

"The Concessionary Contract "For Construction of Landfill, Incinerator and Rehabilitation of the Existing Tirana Landfill and Electricity Production", is monitored by the Project Implementation Unit, which is the administrative structure charged with the follow-up, implementation of contractual conditions and responsibilities, the exercise of constant surveillance."
