The leader of the Muindësia Party, Agron Shehaj, expressed his position today regarding the race for the Municipality of Tirana.

Invited to the show 'Log.', Shehaj proposed that the opposition candidate for this municipality be an individual who has not previously appeared as a political figure.

Shehaj said that the opposition candidate must unite all voters from political forces to defeat the socialist alternative.

"My proposal is very simple and starts from a fact. The fact is that a few months ago, the PS received the majority of the votes. The PD, which is the first opposition party, received 32% of the votes. It is very likely that in two months we will have elections in Tirana. So, practically, looking at the elections three months ago, Edi Rama has the victory in his pocket. I do not believe that anyone could think that starting with such a big difference, 49% to 32%, you need a small difference to win, only if there are representatives, members of the PD. So what is the alternative to increase the possibilities because we are talking about an extraordinary election. It is clear that it does not allow political rotation. In this situation, the only solution we have is not for everyone to join Berisha or the Opportunity Party, but to come up with a candidate so capable and excellent that he can bring everyone together", - said Shehaj./ CNA
