Democratic MP Blendi Himçi reacted today regarding the discussions at Saturday's meeting of the DP Presidency, where the issue of signatures for the People's Advocate was extensively discussed.

Through a post on social media, Himçi states that although he personally did not sign for Endri Shabani's candidacy, it is necessary to distinguish those MPs who were initiators and sought the signature for Endri Shabani from their colleagues and the MPs who signed in confidence without thinking twice.

Himçi also shared a message to Ervin Salianj, saying that by seeking information about the firms, he acted immorally, as he himself was their initiator.

"I take my cue from last night's board meeting where my words were maliciously transformed in the media, taking away from the essence and purpose of the discussion on which I raised several issues of principle."

Let me clarify what my position was:

Regarding the election of the People's Advocate, of course, signing the petition does not honor us. Personally, I did not sign for Endri Shabani, but this does not honor me more than other colleagues since we disappointed the Democrats with this action.

But we must distinguish between those MPs who were the initiators and sought the signature for Endri Shabani from their colleagues and the MPs who signed in confidence without thinking twice.

Coming here today accusing the deputies of having made a mistake by signing for Endri Shabani, when you were the initiator of collecting signatures, does not honor you Ervin, and it is not moral either. You asked me personally and I refused to sign. You asked other colleagues as well and they gave it in good faith.

Second: The idealistic democrat and the bargainer cannot remain in the Democratic Party. The militant and the one who poisons the media or social networks every day, posing as a pure democrat and analyzing who were the culprits of the elections within us, while they openly worked against the interests of the DP in the May 11 elections, cannot remain in the Democratic Party.

I'm sorry to say Ervin, but the podium in Elbasan is being prepared by these "pure democrats".

This private move of yours harms the party's progress. The moment you have found is not only inappropriate but serves as oxygen for Edi Rama, who is in the most critical situation ever during his government. All media close to the government do not deal with the mega-thefts of Rama and Balluku but have all the spotlights on your move.

So I ask you as a friend, give up this movement and join us in the analysis of the elections that we are starting with the structures.
