High interest in the May 11 elections / Immigrants applied from 107 different

Albanian immigrants outside Albania's borders will have the opportunity to vote by mail for the first time in the parliamentary elections on May 11. Applications opened by the CEC have now been closed and at least over 232 thousand immigrants will have the opportunity to exercise their right to vote in their country.

Applications to register arrived from different countries around the world, from a total of 107 countries including all continents. Interest was extremely high, with the highest number of applicants coming from Albanians living in Italy with over 148 thousand requests.

Next are 103 thousand requests for registration from Albanians who have emigrated to Greece, followed by Germany, the United States of America or Great Britain. The list also includes France, Sweden, Belgium or even distant countries such as Peru, Honduras, Jamaica, Uruguay, Maldives, Zambia, Eritrea or the Solomon Islands. /CNA
