Dashamir Shehi announced in a statement to the media that after the heavy defeat in the elections, he has decided to step down from the leadership of the Right Coalition for Development.

"These elections were a farce between the DP and the SP. Closed lists, diaspora votes and the lack of commissioners produced this result. We will demand constitutional changes, a review of territorial reform and electoral reform, otherwise we will continue with these results.

"We lost the elections, I accept my mistakes and that's why I'm leaving, I'm making way for others. There was a positive element from all the elections, the new parties broke the siege yesterday, well done. I hope they produce a better political synergy. That's the only good thing about these elections," said Shehi.

Asked if this is a complete withdrawal from politics?

"I resigned to give way to the youth. Then, about politics, I will always speak as much as I know. There is nothing to be ashamed of, it is normal in politics that we have to admit that we have lost, but that does not mean that we will lose our face. From this point of view, I will speak, I will deal, if I lead a coalition... I think we should leave it to the youth, not because they are smarter than me, no... but normal!", declared Shehi./ CNA
