Vucic announces early elections

Serbian President Aleksandar Vu?i?, at a press conference with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, answered questions regarding the election date and emphasized that the elections will be announced in September or early October.

"As for the issue of announcing elections, I cannot do it myself, I do it after the government convenes the National Assembly and then announces the elections. The elections are expected to be held either in October or November. So, we do not have an exact date yet," he said.

Vu?i? further stated: Last year I said that elections would be held by the end of 2026 and I keep my word to the people to express their free will. So, before the end of the year, we will probably have parliamentary elections and presidential elections a little later./ CNA
