New names in Parliament/ Koçi skeptical: The departure of the old ones

Socialist Party MP Petro Koçi, who will not have a mandate in the next legislature, has spoken about the new names of the Parliament.

In a television appearance, Koçi was skeptical about some of the new names in Parliament.

The MP said that there is a lot of experimentation that could have been avoided, but there are also names that will be of the proper standard.

Koçi further stated that he does not understand the reasons why some new candidates received so many votes, while adding that the race had an extraordinary inequality.

" The victory is an indisputable merit of the Socialist Party, a proof of a new, if not plebiscite-like, belief in this political force. I think that Parliament is first and foremost a political experience. Parliament needs people who know the state well, know the relations of Parliament with state institutions, we know the relations of institutions with each other well. People who have experience in certain areas of the functioning of the state and parliament. I think that the departure of the old ones will really be a minus. I believe that those who have newly entered Parliament will have individuals who will be at the right level, but also those who will not be at the right level.

There are new figures like Pirro Vëngu who I believe will be of a high standard. There is a lot of experimentation there that could have been avoided. I do not know the concrete reasons why some new candidates were voted for so much, but I can say that because of the system, the race has extraordinary inequality , "said Koçi./ CNA
