The mayor arrested for several serious criminal offenses, Erion Veliaj, has resumed his feuds from Durrës prison.

Although he is in prison with three court decisions and was caught in scandalous wiretapping, Veliaj continues to lie when he says he is in prison without any justification and that his detention is unjust and arbitrary.

Veliaj is lying when he says he has not been charged with any criminal offense, while the court's decision clearly states that he is charged with criminal offenses such as "Active and passive corruption of local elected officials", "Laundering the proceeds of crime" and "Bringing prohibited items into detention cells".

In fact, he goes to prison with a court order, and Erion has several of them.

The court's decisions clearly showed that there was no unjust imprisonment, as in addition to the charges, Veliaj and his associates posed a risk of destroying evidence.

Anyway, Erion has the right to argue, he's in prison after all.

"Very dear friends,

Today marks 100 days of my imprisonment without any reasonable justification. My unjust and arbitrary detention continues, although I have not been charged with any criminal offense. As a result, I am being forcibly prevented from exercising my duties as the 3-time elected Mayor of the Municipality of Tirana.

The continuation of this detention is not only an attack on me and my family, but it is also an unnecessary and disproportionate interference in the fulfillment of the public duties entrusted to me by the citizens of Tirana. Despite my imprisonment, I remain unyielding. Every day that passes strengthens my resolve. My commitment to Tirana, to you, to democracy, the rule of law and the future of Albania remains unwavering.

I will continue to pursue all legal avenues to secure my release so that I can continue to serve our wonderful city as your mayor.
