Shehaj: We entered Parliament with two MPs, it's just the beginning

The Chairman of the Muindësia Party, Agron Shehaj, invited to MCN TV, spoke about the results of May 11.

Shehaj said that the established electoral system hinders new parties.

Shehaj further said that entering Parliament with two MPs is an initial step and the presence of the "Mundësia" Party enriches the opposition.

 

" Of course, all of us and I had set an ambitious target, we had a very high objective and we thought we could achieve it with a parliamentary group. 7 mandates were not impossible to obtain, so the expectations were 4 in Tirana and the rest in the districts. If we compare this result with what the daily commentators had, this would be a very good result, but for us this is the minimum.

The electoral system was built to prevent new parties. This is the biggest difficulty for any new party and we have entered parliament with two deputies. Entering parliament is the first step for us and this is just the beginning.

Everyone will form their own opposition, we will not be against the majority and our presence with the party's votes. The opportunity enriches the opposition. Theft of votes is an expression, but we are talking about an unequal competition. All the phenomena that have influenced these unfair elections have existed before. We were aware that we were entering such a competition and to say that we should talk about the phenomena that have turned these elections into difficult ones because whoever is in power uses power to reverse the rotation , "said Shehaj./ CNA
