Allegations of vote theft/ Alibeaj, Alimehmeti and 9 other candidates request

11 candidates, including the two well-known candidates who ran for Tirana County in the May 11 elections, Enkelejd Alibeaj and Ilir Alimehmeti, have addressed the Central Election Commission with a request to obtain the video footage of the counting, after they have expressed allegations of irregularities during the vote counting process from the parliamentary elections.  

The DP candidate in Tirana, Ilir Alimehmeti, lost votes to the other DP candidate, Jorida Tabaku, as did the SP candidate, Blerina Gjylameti, in a close race with Olta Xhaçka, who leads with 69 votes from the count so far.

The other candidate who has requested the footage is Shkëlzim Shehu, the Democratic candidate in the Kukës Region who lost the mandate to Isuf Çelaj. The DP candidate in the Durrës Region, Ilirjana Kuçana, has also requested the footage from the counting.

The other candidates are from the Right 1912 party, the Euro-Atlantic Coalition candidate Rajmond Dervishi in Tirana, Etilda Gjonaj of the SP in Tirana, Altin Goxhaj of the DP in Tirana, Aulon Kalaja of the DP in Durrës, who was defeated by Arjan Ndoja, as well as Frrok Gjini of the SP in Shkodër ./CNA
