Launching on May 25 from Albania/ Military exercise “Defender Europe

The multinational exercise “Defender Europe 25”, led by the United States European Command (USEUCOM), officially begins on May 25. It is one of the largest and most complex military exercises in recent decades in Europe and Africa. The exercise, which will start in Albania, will last until June 9.

It aims to increase readiness, interoperability, and the ability to operate in a coordinated manner between US, NATO, and partner country forces.

“Defender Europe 25” involves a series of large-scale combat activities spanning several European countries and is built around NATO’s Article 5 scenario, which simulates the collective defense of allies. The training scenario will include training in the protection of important facilities, securing embarkation points, as well as offensive and defensive operations in strategic regions of Albania and Kosovo.

One of the main objectives of the exercise is to demonstrate the ability to rapidly deploy troops and equipment from North America to Europe, in a complex operational environment.

"Defender Europe 25" will demonstrate Albania's unwavering commitment to our NATO allies and partners, as well as an opportunity to show the readiness of our Armed Forces to serve alongside our strategic partners in the Western Balkans region and Europe.

This exercise represents a clear message to any potential adversary: ??NATO is united, prepared, and ready to defend every inch of its territory. At the same time, it aims to reassure public opinion in Allied countries that the U.S. and NATO commitment to Euro-Atlantic security remains unwavering. /CNA
