May 11th Elections/ Berisha warns Rama: You will not stay in power with this

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, spoke in harsh tones at today's conference held at the DP headquarters, from where he declared that the May 11 elections were a farce. Berisha warned Prime Minister Edi Rama that he will not remain in power in this way.

Berisha said that May 11 proved to Albanians that with Edi Rama in government there are never free elections.

According to Berisha, it is the duty of Albanians to defend and rise up with all their strength to vote as free citizens in a country like Albania.

"Every article of the fundamental international document has been violated, as has the Constitution of Albania. The Constitution has these, but today I have taken it upon myself to present to you the international document, mandatory for all countries. Any kind of intimidation of voters is prohibited. As you can see, all fundamental international principles have been mercilessly violated.

The DP has hundreds and thousands of documents to substantiate the shameful farce of May 11 that Edi Rama carried out, violating article by article the Copenhagen document on human rights and free elections. And I inform Edi Rama that absolutely, power over this farce cannot stand, that his chair and his entourage stand on the electoral megacrime or the ugliest farce that Europe has had since the fall of the Iron Curtain in a country like Albania. I decided to present to the Albanians the directive, the international principles of free elections, which were violated one by one. And which, for every person who believes in freedom and human dignity, because everything has to do with dignity, May 11 was a farce, the most shameful in the history of Albanian citizens.

May 11 proved to Albanians that with Edi Rama in government, there are never free elections.

And that it is their duty, their courage, their dignity, to defend, to stand up with all their strength to vote as free citizens in a country like Albania," Berisha said./CNA
