"Rama's economic model has failed"/ Teliti: It does not produce

The Deputy Mayor of Tirana Municipal Council, Dorian Teliti, expressed today a governing and economic model that Albania has failed to produce tangible changes for citizens.

In an interview with 'Syri TV', Teliti said that if the Rama government continues on this path as it is today in the economic plan, the result will be the same.

Teliti criticized that today's economic model does not bring development, is not a vision that opens new jobs and does not develop production.  

"With the election results, if they can be called such, since they were an electoral massacre, both inside and outside the country. The economy does not change within a day, week or year. Nothing has changed: we have the same governance model, we have an economic model that we cannot call a real economic model, we must be realistic, we have the same public administration, the same level of taxation. So, what has changed?

And poverty was 42% and this year, according to EUROSTAT, it was still 42%. So, we have no change, although the Albanian economy is growing. Although we have an economic growth of 3-4% year after year, the fact that poverty remains at the same level shows that the added value of the economy does not go to everyone. It is channeled to a certain group of people. The rich become richer and the poor become poorer.

Today we have 12 years of history. We know that this economic model brings this result. If the Rama government continues on this path, as it is today, the result will be the same. A repeated exercise will give the same result and this is a 12-year exercise. If we continue with the same governance model, the same taxation model, with the high level of corruption, and in turn, for policies that will stop this massive depopulation that is happening to the Albanian reality, especially the departure of people capable of work, the result will be the same: we will have high poverty in the region.

"This current economic model does not bring development, it is not a vision that opens new jobs, it does not develop production. The problem is how to enrich Albanians, how to fill the tables to feed them. We cannot tolerate that 12% of children eat only one meal and we cannot tolerate that they are malnourished in terms of quality, and then become a burden for medicines, for the state budget and, in the end, be unable to work," said Teliti. /CNA
