The head of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, revealed yesterday why the opposition today blocked the start of the parliamentary session by overturning the chair of Prime Minister Edi Rama and occupying the seats of the ministers in the Assembly.

In the statement to the media, Bardhi said that the opposition is not being allowed the right to make its proposals for the members of the Electoral Reform Commission, as well as the obstruction of the right to request an investigative commission for health concessions.

Bardhi emphasized that due to conflicts within the DP, the opposition has not demanded its rights.

" The opposition is not allowed to propose the members it wants in the Electoral Reform Commission.

We wanted the parliament to be a temple where we face arguments.

Due to the conflict, we did not demand these rights, we were forced today not to allow the continuation of the plenary session. We would like to talk about the problems of the citizens, but when the opposition closes every institutional path, obviously the assembly cannot carry out normal activities. Citizens must understand that our battle is to return the parliament to the country.

The right of the opposition to a parliamentary investigation is a right set by the constitution. These are the reasons why we blocked the parliamentary session", said Bardhi./ CNA
