The meeting of the DP is cleared/ Bardhi warns of tough debates with the

Yesterday, the DP parliamentary group held a meeting, where there were discussions about the opposition action.

MP Gazment Bardhi requested that colleagues not allow a normal plenary session to take place until their demands for the Special Electoral Reform Commission are taken into account.

"We will have to take a stand. The majority is blocking us from any institutional space. They destroyed parliamentarism. The opposition should not allow normal parliamentary activity to take place, as long as the majority will continue to reject the opposition's demands for parliamentary investigative commissions, or the refusal to change the members of the Special Electoral Reform Commission. What is happening now has never happened to the opposition. Every space has been annihilated. They have practically put us in the conditions where they decide everything for us. We will have to have a firm attitude. I expect proposals from you and we have to come up with a decision on what we should do", stated Bardhi.

On the other hand, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha had another proposal.

Berisha stated that a public letter should be sent to the internationals, to inform them about the handling of the opposition's demands.

Also, the chief democrat suggested that they meet together with the allied parties of the DP to discuss the situation.

"I think we should make a letter, also public, and distribute it to the international offices and let them know what is happening in the Albanian parliament, what is happening with the opposition. Then we must gather the allied parties, where we can discuss the situation in question and the last step is the clash, in order not to allow the normal development of the parliamentary sessions, but to block them", he said, while requesting that the boycott should be removed from the agenda of the opposition.

"I think that the boycott is not an option as a mechanism to be used by us, that is, the boycott of the parliament. We will not use those practices that have been used before, (Refers to the burning of mandates, the abandonment of elections) but we will use every democratic means so that no one tramples the opposition, as happened in the last parliamentary session", underlined Berisha. ./ CNA
