Will he obey SPAK's decision to arrest him? Berisha answers
Sali Berisha

Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha in a media conference commented on yesterday's decision of the Council of Mandates, where it was decided to remove his immunity.

The head of the DP said that he does not know the decision of the Basha-Brava commission.

Similarly, Berisha said that he will not obey SPAK's decision to change the measure, "house arrest" or "prison arrest".

Full statement:

The decision is illegal. You saw the committee's proceedings, the committee did not present any evidence, any facts.
Read a little about what the parliamentary regulations say about the examination of the requests of the prosecution.
No conditions were met. They had only one request, since I did not implement their unconstitutional decisions, to increase the punishment. And of course in a country where the parliament, the prosecution and everything is in the hands of one man, it happens. I had no doubt.
It happened that they carried out an order of those who have taken power from them. There is nothing more dangerous. This can only happen in a dictatorship. So this decision of the Balla-Brava commission has no legitimacy.
But the parliament's decision for me is the abrogation they make of article 73, point 2. It is their problem then this. This is also in the Constitutional Court, but I don't expect anything big because it goes without saying what control it has over it.

But in respect of the Constitution, I have also taken it to the Constitutional Court. ...Once again, the parliament's decision is taken on an illegal decision. I cannot accept as legal a decision that is made on the basis of an illegal decision. I denounce the decision as illegal. The decision taken without examining any document, any file, but simply for the sake of aggravation because I have refused to accept the violation of the Constitution, this is the greatest stupidity.

Of course I have lawyers, I listen to them because with the vote of the parliament, a cycle of this process is closed. And I, in consultation with the lawyers, will make the decisions I have to make. Yesterday I saw that session was the biggest shame in the history of this parliament. I thought that's where the file will go, as the rule says, as the law says. And the only question that was asked, we were told to take out a document about the role played by Berisha in the change of destination. But he didn't have the courage to take it out because Edi Rama was there. No, he said, we are not here for that, he said. How are you not for these? Yes, the prosecutor never goes to parliament except for this. And the law of the parliament itself says that files are examined one by one./CNA
