The "opposition" does not need "saviors", because there is

What we see today in the Albanian opposition is not one of the most pleasant scenes. It is not even a pleasant picture for those who lived the PD journey, believed in a dream and vision, sometimes with personal sacrifices, many times with losses.

All the more so that PD is in its worst state: divided from the center and down to the base, so divided that it can no longer unite, especially around a "historical leader", who in the decade of the 90s had the chance to write the history of a democratic and European Albania, that today is trapped by the new justice at home and that for two months has been speaking from the balcony to his followers, (not that what he says with a theatrical noise is completely wrong, but because behind all this noise there is a leader, who claims to confirm his leadership role, and the defining element is that he refers to a party, or a part of the party, that has closed its cycle.)

A party whose intolerance and arrogance is characterized only by denunciation, disorder and tribal political behavior is merely a symptom of a deeper crisis.

Because the decisive issue is no longer whether the PD (Refounded) will be able to find its rhythm, have a substantive discussion, draw up a strategy and have a leadership with considerable legitimacy. The era of this is long gone - at least for those who can read reality without party glasses, which is why I spoke of the end of an era.

Now the main issue and the essential question is whether the DP (Refounded) can play any significant role anymore, whether it can really play a leading role in the opposition and more broadly in the progressive faction of society. If it can inspire the popular classes and the middle class hit by the crisis, poverty and depopulation, by the lack of hope and perspective; to represent them, to offer them an alternative, to produce progressive and convincing ideas.

If it can be seen as hope against a government whose apparent omnipotence can hardly mask its real weakness and failure in areas critical to society.

And the answer to this question is NO!

The re-establishment must be clear that there can be a majority of MPs in the opposition, even a majority of militants, but it is not the majority of Albania. And it can't even come back!

PD, which could play this role, has closed its cycle. Not with the loss of 2023; on May 14 simply highlighted a fact, which citizens who get a little wind from politics knew.

The cycle had begun to close already in the second governing term and it was proven in 2013, when the catastrophic loss with 1 million voters against did not serve as a reference point or starting point for revival and reformation, for the removal of all the burdens of the past, of which held him hostage, not allowing him to see the division and isolation from society.

The defeat in 2017, the non-participation in the local elections in 2019 and the defeat in 2021, came naturally and as a consequence of the lack of deep, true reform that was never really done.

Then from September 9, 2021 onwards, the opposition was in a dramatic state. It was divided into them and us, sold, bought and principled, resistance fighters and fighters for justice and democracy, anti-American and pro-American, anti-Western and pro-Western.

All yesterday's losers were lined up among the unsold and resistant, some as "leaders", most as soldiers, even the "leaders" in the elections of May 14, 2023 forced the democrats to vote for LSI alias PL.

In these three years of disintegration of the opposition, Rithemelimi could not produce any ideas, since nothing new can come from old jackets.

The same people at the top; the same chronic losers, the same vocabulary, the same political discourse, the same political action, the same behavior as 30 years ago, without realizing that society has changed, the information is wider and that what united Albanians in the overthrow of communism they are no longer priorities and political actions, today, after 34 years.

But Re-establishment does not understand (although I am convinced that most do) that the main goal of the opposition should be political rotation and not the consolidation of power within Berisha's opposition. The opposition, who are beyond Berisha's name, demand a change of power after 12 years in the opposition.

Even the "unification" of some deputies, who are actually the majority, is simply a union where everyone waits and calculates, it is a union that will take away more votes than it will bring. Everyone knows that they approached not for principles, but for a place in the parliament next year, who act as if they are with Berisha, with the new justice and with the internationals.

Although this is also debatable, since it is not yet known whether they will be able to run, how they will run and with what candidate they will go.

And, most importantly, they follow a political leader totally isolated from the international community. Whatever the opposition does under Berisha, if it does not find international allies, whom it called "mafia" from the balcony, it will continue to remain powerless in the face of this power. In this sense, the deep isolation in which it is located makes Berisha's political formation impossible to reach power. It is true that the US and internationals do not bring you to power, but if you are in conflict with them, gaining power becomes impossible.

Therefore, for the opposition, the challenge remains even today. It seems that this too comes from a political landscape more adversarial than ever. A government that has half of its cabinet and officials in prison, under investigation by SPAK or on the run and is still much stronger than the political opposition.

And, what is more strange or tragic for the opposition today is that it is ready to sit down to negotiate and reach an agreement with the SP, only with the rest of the PD it does not sit down.

However, it has a social opposition. Which is currently politically homeless and seems to be disoriented. And that actually requires expression, political reason and direction. And that along the way can give real social explosions.

Albania must regain a right-wing and progressive opposition, with the backbone and core of the true right. In the way these concepts are denoted today and not in the terms of previous decades. But also with the same insistence that the country needs major social changes aimed at more justice and real democracy.

Today this can only take the form of new political forms. Forms capable of including people who are in the existing formations of the right, but without copying them and at the same time capable of meeting with all those people who today are not at all sure that they will go to vote. Forms that can do politics and not communication. Forms that make social explosions, forces of transformation and not only explosions according to the model of Gaz Bardhi or Agron Gjekmarkaj's satire logs, nor Flamur Noka's revolutions, nor Nard Ndoka's opposition federation, nor even unions in "diversity".

Because the question is not whether a party will simply disband. It is neither the first nor the last case. The problem is that this situation works as an obstacle for the political scene as a whole, and for the proper functioning of Democracy.

Let's put it simply: with the opposition in the current situation, the government will continue to play without an opponent, the people will be discouraged, the sense of stalemate and lack of alternative will strengthen, society will be without direction, the opposition will remain politically orphaned.

Avoiding this situation is today the main priority and the great responsibility of all those who refer to the possibility of a right and progressive exit. Inside and outside the opposition.

All those who believe that this is the right way must take the responsibility that belongs to them. To go beyond their limits, their obsessions, their obsessions. To dare to propose something and above all to take responsibility for its implementation.
