What is, what does opposition mean?

What is, what does opposition mean?

Somehow, with the return of the Assembly to "normality", after 5 months of ugly performances from all parties, the so-called "opposition" has finally started to do its job.

To produce a political result with its "action" by causing a kind of shock in the government, despite the fact that this "shock" is sought and invested by the majority itself, but not (if we want to be honest and realistic) shaking their sense of omnipotence of her.

The opposition is far from that, despite the successive scandals of the majority, the actions of SPAK, social fatigue, poverty and the ever-growing dissatisfaction of the people.

The Albanian "opposition" exercises its oppositional role by identifying the weaknesses of the government, especially where there is strong arrogance of power, it highlights issues related to a wider "sense of justice" in society, such as the impunity of those responsible current policies; makes denunciations that touch the dome of the government, the mayor of Tirana, or family members of deputies, even the family of the prime minister.

Except that's half the job of the opposition. The other half, which is the main and essential one, she still does not do and it is unlikely that she will ever manage to do it, when even some of the protests she does are unfortunately sponsored by certain clans, in favor of or against certain clans political.

But people don't just wait for the opposition to criticize, insult, denounce or find out, despite the extraordinary space that the media has given these two years, especially to the "recycled opposition".

This is not the task of the opposition!

We expect, and the opposition must, to propose alternative policies, to have a political program that can become an alternative and governing program tomorrow to convince the electorate where to go!

Because this constitutes the necessary condition, so that the opposition does not simply get stuck in ascertaining the dissatisfaction of the society, but offers it a way out and a perspective of where to go.

And here it is not just about convincing the society that it is worth supporting the opposition electorally.

It is mainly about whether the society will first look for and then be convinced that there is another way.

Because if society is unhappy and angry, but at the same time doesn't believe that things can change, then where are we?

We will have a passive and cynical opposition, and in electoral terms either a protest party, or a party exploiting protests, without changing, in fact, nothing for the better for society.

We will have a weak opposition, non-existent and without a compass, clinging to false myths and cults of the individual and, instead of reforming itself to be credible to the people and ready to ask for the vote tomorrow and take power, corrodes itself in intra-species warfare.
And when the opposition, which needs every opposition vote, is consumed in the internal enmity "O with me, O against me!", in not accepting the opinion otherwise; in the prevailing personal interest for a place in parliament tomorrow, then this opposition does not deserve to come to power.

Precisely for this reason, today the country must seriously discuss its future, and this presupposes a confrontation of political programs.

Unfortunately, neither the official opposition, nor the one "united in diversity with the recycled" are able to elaborate a realistic and convincing alternative for society, which puts the greatest emphasis on strengthening the rule of law and the social state and the fight against corruption, the evaluation of meritocracy and values.

As a result, while today the social opposition is the one that demands and claims change, justice, the rule of law and the rule of law; the parliamentary opposition is non-existent and weak to carry out a coup, the change that is required. Even an "opposition" that in the morning is with SPAK, in the afternoon is with SKAP, which unites votes with the majority in an amnesty for corruption. An opposition, when one of its "leaders" threatens to "disappear SPAK" (he likes to say SKAP) is unacceptable.

And this situation cannot continue.

Albanian society cannot have an opposition that simply "expresses its displeasure" and "denounces" the government's actions, to then cooperate with it for the self-interest of some "opposition" individuals.

The opposition still cannot be convinced that it can formulate a credible alternative proposal.

Albanian society needs an opposition to convince it that it represents change and that it will be ready when it comes to power to make the change!

Because the opposition mainly means an alternative governance solution with the seal of tomorrow's governance.

Of course, times have changed and in the conditions of European integration there are more difficulties in articulating radical progressive policies, but this does not negate the need, the challenge remains.

Except this requires an opposition that we don't have, it requires a reformed opposition, in the first place it has reformed itself and has completely broken away from the past. Of course, it also requires political structures that can organize this.

Otherwise, we will only see the "eternal opposition" to "find out, denounce and make agreements" and abstention to win the elections./ CNA
