"Icons of Albania" with 45 works from Korça/ The headline of

In Chambery, France, Albania and the country's culture will be the focus of cultural life.

This special program, realized thanks to the partnership and friendship established since 2022 between the cities of Chambery and Korça, will be dedicated this year to Albanian culture, arts, music and letters.

One of the key events of this Albanian cultural season will be the exhibition "Icons of Albania", which will take place from May to November at the Museum of Fine Arts of Shamberia, where 45 important works of art from the national heritage of Albania from the 14th to the 20th centuries will be displayed, part of the collection of the National Museum of Medieval Art of Korça.

The connection between Korça and France is historical and particularly strong.

Called "Little Paris" for its Francophone past, Korça is known for its cultural tradition and dynamism, architecture, and its historical role in the Albanian national awakening.

Between the two world wars, the French Lyceum in Korça was the cradle of the Albanian intellectual and cultural elites, and its memory will be revived with the upcoming opening of the new Franco-Albanian Lyceum of Korça, a joint project between Albania and France with an eye on the sciences and the future./CNA
