Suspected of abuse of office/Officials of the Business Registration Agency are

Authorities in Kosovo questioned several officials of the Kosovo Business Registration Agency (KBRA) on Wednesday, as part of a crackdown on the agency over suspicions of abuse of office and falsification of documents.

The acting head of the ARBK, Igballe Rexha-Jashari, and two other officials have been escorted to the police station for questioning, the spokesperson for the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, Kaltrina Shala, told Radio Free Europe.

Previously, the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina announced that the raid on the ARBK was being conducted due to suspicions of committing criminal offenses: abuse of official position or authority, and specific cases of document forgery.

In a response to Radio Free Europe, Shala did not indicate what the functions of other officials are, but announced that the Prosecutor's Office's action is still ongoing.

"The prosecutor will take all legal action regarding the case," she said.

Authorities have not provided further details about the suspected abuses at this agency.

ARBK is the main institution for the registration and administration of businesses in Kosovo, and operates under the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade./ Rel
