Airstrikes resume/ Iran sends new missile barrages towards Israel

Iran and Israel have just exchanged missiles and airstrikes, as the conflict that has killed dozens of people escalates with no end in sight.

At least 80 people, including 20 children, have been killed in Iran and four in Israel, with hundreds injured on both sides in the ongoing clashes.

Israel's Channel 13 cites initial reports that Iranian missiles have hit the northern coastal city of Haifa and the neighboring town of Tamra.

According to Al Jazeera, the attack on Haifa was expected because Israeli gas fields are located there.

The missiles were launched from Iran towards Israel a few minutes ago, according to the Israel Defense Forces, which added that defense systems are operating to "capture the threat."

The explosions could be heard as far as Jerusalem. /CNA
