50-minute conversation/New Trump-Putin communication this Saturday

US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a new 50-minute phone call this Saturday, according to Russian media reports citing a Kremlin source.

According to the same sources, in the context of the conversation, the two leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East, with the Russian president condemning the military operations that the Israelis have launched in recent hours against Iran.

According to the Russian side, the telephone conversation the two leaders had today was "substantial" and "very useful," while Putin wished Trump a happy birthday.

For his part, the US president described the situation in the Middle East as very worrying. However, he stressed that US negotiators are ready to sit down again at the negotiating table with the Iranian side./CNA
