Iran's President: We want peace, but we will not give up our nuclear and

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said today that Iran seeks peace, but stressed that it will not abandon its nuclear and missile programs.

"We are ready to hold talks within international frameworks, but not if they say you can't have (nuclear) science, or we are deprived of the right to defend ourselves with missiles ," Pezeshkian said.

Iran has consistently rejected negotiations over its defensive capabilities, including its missile program and the idea of ??giving up all uranium enrichment on its soil.

"We want to live in this world in peace and security, but not to be humiliated, and it is not acceptable for them to impose whatever they want on us and for us to simply serve them ," Pezeshkian said.

Israel views Iran as an existential threat. But Iran says its ballistic missiles, which have a range of up to 2,000 kilometers, are an important retaliatory force against the United States, Israel and other potential regional targets. /CNA
