On Thursday, the Kosovar authorities interrogated the wife of Millan Radoicic, the former vice-president of the Serbian List, who claimed responsibility for last September's deadly attack against the Kosovo Police in the north of the country.
The news was confirmed for Radio Free Europe by the deputy director of the Kosovo Police for the North Region, Veton Elshani.
"We confirm that this person is being interviewed in North Mitrovica, in the presence of the lawyer, at the invitation of Economic Crimes in Pristina", said Elshani.
He did not say what charges she was being questioned on.
In April, the Kosovar authorities confiscated and seized the property of Millan Radoicic in the north of Kosovo.
"There was a court order for the confiscation of three properties, Millan Radoicic's villa, the Gray restaurant and an apartment on the sixth floor above the Gray restaurant," Elshani said after the action on April 4.
The villa is located by Lake Ujman in the municipality of Zubin Potok in the north of Kosovo, while the restaurant and the apartment are located in North Mitrovica - this municipality is inhabited by a majority of Serbs.
These three immovable properties were initially seized by the Kosovo Prosecutor's Office in September last year.
Radoicic admitted that he had organized and led the attack on the Kosovo police on September 24 in the village of Banjské in Zvecan, where a policeman was killed, while three attackers were killed during the exchange of fire.
Kosovo has accused Serbia of being behind the attack in Banjska, but Belgrade has said it had no hand in it.
In Kosovo, no indictment has yet been filed against Radoicic, although it was warned that it would be filed by the end of March this year.
In December last year, the International Police Agency (INTERPOL) issued an arrest warrant for Radoicic at the request of Kosovo, which was sent to him through the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).
Radoicic appeared before the High Court in Belgrade last October, but the court rejected the proposal of the High Public Prosecution to determine the measure of detention, leaving him free.
He has been imposed a ban on leaving the territory of the Republic of Serbia, as well as a ban on going to Kosovo.
The international community has called several times for those responsible for the attack in Banjska to face justice./ REL
