The Democratic Union for Integration, the largest party of Albanians in North Macedonia, has raised the alarm that the procedure for using the Albanian language on road signs has been discontinued.

DUI considers this a "scandal" and a "clear act of discrimination against Albanians".

"Scandals with the Albanian language have not stopped. This is an unprecedented step and harmful to the implementation of the law that guarantees linguistic equality. Despite the fact that the selection process of the company for the realization of the project was completed, the current leadership has decided to stop the procedure", the statement to the media states.

DUI raises the alarm that these failures are the result of the government's lack of electoral legitimacy.

"The Democratic Union for Integration alarms that these failures come as a result of the lack of electoral legitimacy of this government, its clear inability to manage key processes and its dependence on the political influences of VMRO", says the DUI, referred to the coalition of Albanian parties, VLEN, which is part of the governing coalition in North Macedonia./ CNA
