Romania faces deadly floods

Five people have died and more than 100 others have been evacuated after the eastern part of Romania was hit by massive floods on the evening of September 13.

Galati and Vaslui counties were hardest hit by the floods, as people climbed onto the roofs of their homes, waiting for rescue teams to evacuate them.

Many roads are blocked in these two districts, where the water level in some places has reached up to 3 meters due to torrential rains.

Nineteen villages in eight counties have been hit by the sightings, according to Romanian authorities.

Rain is predicted to hit most of the region in the coming days, as authorities have been put on alert in the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, southern Germany and parts of Austria./ Rel
