The Serbian government orders the implementation of measures for Kosovo

The Government of Serbia has approved a conclusion that orders activities and measures from the ministries, in terms of the legal and socio-economic protection of the Serbs in Kosovo, but also of the national interests of Serbia.

This decision of the Serbian government was taken a day after the measures were presented by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vu?i?.

After the meeting of the government, the Serbian Prime Minister, Milosh Vucevic, stated that the decision of the executive has to do with five areas of action that were presented by Vu?i?i.

These measures, as it has been said, include the return to the situation before the unilateral decisions of the Kosovo government, the declaration of Kosovo as an area under special social protection, the further strengthening of Serbian institutions in Kosovo and that their closure is not allowed.

According to the announcement of the Serbian government, Vucevic stated that the request will be sent to the Serbian Assembly to declare illegal all actions that are contrary to the agreements between the negotiating parties, since the declaration of independence of Kosovo.

"Therefore, everything that seemed one-sided, everything that canceled the agreements and efforts no longer exist for us, they are invalid, non-binding and cannot produce a legal effect," said Vucevic.

During his address on September 13, Serbian President Aleksandar Vu?i? requested the announcement of new local elections in the north of Kosovo, the return of Serbs to the Kosovo Police and the judiciary, as well as the withdrawal of special units of the Kosovo Police from the northern region.

The chief diplomat of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, reacted to the submission of demands from Serbia. On September 14, she asked the international factor to condemn what she described as "aggressive and hostile approach, behavior and language" of the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, against Kosovo.

Gërvalla said that with these requests, Vucic showed that "he has no intention of stopping the instrumentalization of Kosovo Serbs and their interests, using them for daily politics and financial benefits".

The chief diplomat of Kosovo accused the Serbian leader of aiming to prevent the normalization of relations between the two states, but also, according to her, to keep tensions alive in the region, and added that these goals are "in full sync with Russia's interests".

The new tensions between Kosovo and Serbia come after the authorities in Kosovo in recent weeks have closed several Serbian parallel institutions, which they consider unconstitutional and illegal.

Belgrade has described these actions as "criminal acts" aimed at "deporting Serbs".

The European Union, the United States, France, the United Kingdom and Germany have criticized Kosovo's actions to close five parallel Serbian institutions on August 30, calling them unilateral and uncoordinated actions.

The Government of Kosovo estimates that with its actions it is only aiming to extend sovereignty to the entire territory of the state./ Rel
