Aviation specialist David Gleave said the power outage in the Iberian Peninsula will not affect air traffic control.
Gleave said a generator will kick in one second after a power outage, ensuring the planes are safe.
"A diesel generator will keep the power running so that air traffic control can function. The same process "keeps the runway lights, navigation aids and radars on ," Gleave said.
The Spanish Air Navigation Organization, Enaire, previously made a post on X, stating that all measures have been taken to guarantee complete safety.
" Air traffic management operations from the five @ENAIRE control centers, the external one, are maintained with the support of generator sets planned for this type of incident. Appropriate regulations are being implemented to guarantee the full safety of operations ," the announcement said./ CNA
