Hristijan Mickovski takes the mandate for the formation of the government in

Hristijan Mickovski of VMRO-DPMNE on Thursday received the mandate for the formation of the new government of North Macedonia. He has a deadline of 20 days to submit the program and the names of the cabinet to the parliament. Mickovski said that his government will work for the realization of campaign promises. The new parliamentary majority has the necessary votes to approve the government.

The chairman of VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickovski, starting from today, has a deadline of 20 days for the formation of the new government cabinet. According to the Constitution, Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova handed him the mandate to form the government, as the leader of the winning party in the May 8 elections.

"Mr. Hristijan Mickovski has a serious opportunity to form the government, namely to have the 61 votes necessary for the approval of his program and the government composition that he will propose in the next 20 days ," said President Siljanovska Davkova.

Mandate Mickovski said that the new reformist government, as he called it, will be formed soon; that his cabinet will move the processes forward and create a sense of equality for all citizens.

He announces economic development of the country, investments and receiving a loan of 1 billion euros with favorable conditions, but without specifying from where. He also spoke about improving the health and education situation and raising pensions.

Mandate Mickovski assesses that diplomacy is in a bad state; that some diplomatic representatives, but without mentioning names, have acted for their individual interests and that they will be called to "serious talks" by the new Minister of Foreign Affairs.

"The perception of criminality and corruption is very high; the citizens are revolted and do not feel safe and this represents the main motive for their departure from the country", said Mr. Mickovski, announcing quick reforms in the judiciary.

As a first step, the new parliamentary majority will remove the Council of Public Prosecutors and the Judicial Council, an issue that for the outgoing Minister of Justice, Krenar Lloga, is a trend for disciplining judges and interference in the judiciary.

Mickovski described the negative attitudes of DUI towards the expected government as an opportunity to incite ethnic provocations in Macedonian coexistence.

He does not use the constitutional name of the country, which is North Macedonia, but he will use this reference, as he says in international meetings and conferences. He estimates that neighboring Greece is not respecting the Prespa Agreement.

But, according to analysts, this approach of his would endanger the country's integration process towards the European Union.

The parties of the 'Vlen' coalition will have six ministers, including the first deputy prime minister, while the incumbent Mickovski has not yet announced the names of the government cabinet. The 'Znam' party, which has six legislators in the parliament, will also be in the government. The new parliamentary majority with VMRO at the head will have 78 deputies, two less than two-thirds of the 120-seat parliament./ VOA
