Attacks on Iran/US: We didn't start this war, but we will finish it

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth gave a statement to the media today in which he stated that the US attacks on Iran are not intended to change the regime of that country, although this happened.

"This is not a so-called war for regime change, but the regime really changed and the world is better because of it ," Hegseth said.

The secretary stated, among other things, that the US did not start the war, claiming that Iran has been carrying out attacks for decades in a unilateral war against America.

"We didn't start this war, but under President Trump, we are ending it ," Hegseth said.

He further stated that the ongoing US military operations against Iran will not turn into what he described as an "endless war." Responding to reports that four US service members were killed, Hegseth said he was aware that there would be casualties from the operation. /CNA
