"The spy inside the palace also showed where he was sitting"/ Who

Two days ago it was confirmed that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had been killed following attacks across Iran by Israel and the US.

According to reports, Ali Khamenei was holding a secret meeting with his close advisors at his palace in Iran.

Although the meeting was confidential, someone allegedly passed the information to Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad.

Mossad operatives reportedly received details from inside the Iranian government about where Khamenei would hold the meeting, when, and who would be present.

Experts are of the opinion that such attacks are usually carried out at night, but after receiving the information, Israel allegedly decided to launch an immediate attack in the morning.

Israel had initially planned to launch the attack at night, but acted quickly after receiving specific information regarding the Supreme Leader's location.

President Donald Trump's reaction

US President Donald Trump confirmed Khamenei's death, writing on his Twitter account that Ali Khamenei, one of the most evil figures in history, had been killed. Israeli broadcaster Channel 12, citing senior military officials, reported that Khamenei's body was found in the ruins of the presidential palace.

Who betrayed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei?

According to reports, the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad had provided details about the Supreme Leader's confidential meetings. Mossad operatives reportedly learned that Iran's top leadership was scheduled to attend a meeting inside the presidential palace at 9 a.m. local time on Saturday.

The Israelis had precise information about when the meeting was starting, what it was about, who was present, where everyone was sitting, and which room Khamenei was sitting in. An indication of how deeply the Israeli secret service Mossad has eroded the Iranian state was that the information came from a person with absolute confidence in Khamenei, who was, literally, at his side.

The information was so “inside” that the agent recruited by Mossad first informed Benjamin Netanyahu himself, sending a video on his cellphone of the discovery of Khamenei’s body (showing the characteristic ring on his hand) and then a clear photo of the face of the dead supreme leader of Iran.

Is the agent a general?

It is considered certain that the image of the dead Khamenei was not sent to Netanyahu by an Israeli drone, but by an agent recruited by Mossad. Who was it? Rumors abound, based not on information, but on repeated coincidences, which indicate that it could be the Revolutionary Guard general and commander of the “Quds Force”, Ismail Qaani.

Ismail Qaani

He is the one who succeeded Soleimani after his death and enjoyed the absolute trust of Khamenei. Of course, since the Iranian general was appointed, he has been accidentally spared from Mossad operations.

He did so even on the day he, as an Iranian envoy, was giving Hezbollah the knowledge to confront the IDF. Of course, on the day someone made a handshake that laced Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s hand with a substance and turned it into a “transmitter,” he was spared. Instead, Nasrallah was killed, as was his successor at the helm of Hezbollah, Safieddine, in a deadly precision strike by the Israelis. Qaani was presumed dead for days, reportedly escaping “by a narrow margin.”

Qaani was reportedly considered a suspect in Tehran and was questioned, which ended when the general collapsed and was taken to hospital with symptoms of a heart attack.

After Qaani purged his opponents in the Revolutionary Guards, he became a topic of discussion again. It is said that in July 2024 he visited Ismail Haniyeh, at a top-secret location in central Tehran. Shortly afterwards, the Israelis blew up Haniyeh's hideout. Qaani escaped "for a short time."

Again “by chance” he reportedly survived Israeli attacks during the 12-day war, during which much of Iran’s military leadership was killed. And now, he was missing, or had just left Khamenei’s office, when the Israelis struck with 30 precision bombs, killing them all. Logically, the person who would dare to take out his cell phone and take a picture of the supreme leader’s body, amidst the rubble, could only be a senior Iranian military official.

What do platform X users think?

“Qaani was the one who got up to leave, pretending to have left the oven on at home,” X users joked, retelling the ironic joke that is being heard these days by anti-regime Iranians. “In the next government, it will be funny that the supreme leader will pretend that he is not a Mossad agent, because he will not imagine that his ministers and generals will also play the same roles, since they are also Mossad agents, but they do not suspect him.”

An X account linked to Mossad posted a six-word comment in Iranian that said "Qaani is not our agent."

"Mossad denies it is Mossad," other users mock./ CNA
