New Israeli attacks in southern and eastern parts of Lebanon

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) today bombed several areas in southern and eastern Lebanon, for which they had previously issued an evacuation order, claiming that the targets of the operation were the infrastructure of the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Palestinian Hamas.

Through a post on the "X" platform, Colonel Avichai Andrai, the Israeli army spokesman, had called for the evacuation of four communities: Kfar Hatta and Annan (south) and Al-Manara and Ain al-Tina (east).

"By staying in this area, you are putting yourself at risk," the Israeli army spokesman warned in posts that were accompanied by maps of specific areas.

Despite a ceasefire that was supposed to end more than a year of fighting in November 2024, the Israeli military has carried out almost daily attacks and operations in areas of Lebanon, mainly in the south of the country, claiming to be targeting Hezbollah and Hamas positions.

Israeli troops also remain in five locations in southern Lebanon considered of strategic importance. At least 350 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon since the ceasefire took effect, according to an estimate by the French News Agency (AFP) based on data from the Lebanese Health Ministry. /CNA
