Suspicions of murder/ Hollywood director and his wife found dead in their Los

Legendary Hollywood director and actor Rob Reiner and his wife Michele have been found dead in their Los Angeles home. Authorities are investigating the incident as a suspected homicide.

Reiner is known for directing classic films including The Princess Bride, This is Spinal Tap, When Harry Met Sally, Misery and A Few Good Men.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are devastated by this sudden loss and ask for privacy during this extremely difficult time," a family spokesperson said in a statement to American media.

Police said no arrests have been made in the incident. There are also no details yet about any injuries the pair suffered. Police spokesman Alan Hamilton said the cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office.

Rob Reiner, the son of comedy legend Carl Reiner, began his career in the 1960s and rose to fame playing Meathead on the groundbreaking television sitcom All in the Family in the 1970s, which earned him two Emmy Awards. He achieved further success with the cult mockumentary film This Is Spinal Tap in 1984, which he directed and starred in as screenwriter Marty DiBergi.

This began a series of classic Hollywood films directed by Reiner, including Stand By Me (1986), The Princess Bride (1987), When Harry Met Sally (1989), Misery (1990) and A Few Good Men (1992), the latter of which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. He reunited with Spinal Tap for the highly anticipated sequel Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, which was released this September. /CNA
