Zelensky-Makcon discussions / Focus on the establishment of a maritime corridor

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron spoke on Sunday, discussing the "functioning" of a maritime corridor set up by Kiev for the safe navigation of ships after Moscow pulled out of a landmark wheat deal in July.

The call came on the eve of a summit in Russia between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, who wants to revive the wheat deal (see previous post at 12.47), reports AFP.

"We also discussed ways to ensure the functioning of the grain corridor and increase the security of the Odesa region," Zelenskiy said on social media after a phone call with Macron.

Ukraine this week said four more ships had passed through its temporary maritime corridor in the Black Sea, which it set up last month to ensure safe navigation./ CNA
