The joint "all-Serbian" declaration between Serbia and the Serbian entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BeH), Republika Srpska (RS), stems from legal misinformation and is full of errors, the United States Embassy in Sarajevo said Monday.

A so-called "all-Serbian assembly" convened on Saturday in Belgrade, where leaders of Serbia and Republika Srpska called for the unity of Serbs throughout the region.

In a post on the X social network, the American Embassy said that "the statement does not constitute the protection of the Dayton Peace Agreement, as the authors claim, but is a deliberate attack on this agreement and on the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is dangerous." It was organized under the slogan "One people, one assembly - Serbia and Serbia" and produced the so-called Declaration for the protection of national and political rights and the common future of the Serbian people.

The US Embassy said that statements made by Republika Srpska officials, especially its president Milorad Dodik and the speaker of the RS National Assembly, Nenad Stevandi?, about "Republika Srpska's declaration and plans for 'secession' - another name" for the word separation - constitute an attack on the Dayton Agreement and on the territorial integrity, sovereignty and multi-ethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina".

She said that the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina explicitly state that Bosnia and Herzegovina is the sole successor of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina with its internal structure modified to consist of two entities. "Neither the Dayton Agreement nor the BiH Constitution gives the entities, or any other sub-state body, the right to secession, 'secession', or any other tactless synonym for secession invented by RS officials. "The RS is not a state and it can only exist within Bosnia and Herzegovina", says the reaction.

The embassy assessed that Dodik's plans endanger the peaceful and democratic future within the Euro-Atlantic institutions that the people of Bosnia, including the inhabitants of the RS, love./ Rel
