Deadline from the Constitutional Court/ The constitution of the Kosovo Assembly is not achieved

The Kosovo Assembly has not been constituted tonight, either, in the session held this Saturday evening.

This session coincides with the deadline for this process, set by the Constitutional Court of Kosovo.

In its reasoning, the Court stated that if an ex officio interim measure were not imposed on the decisions and actions of elected members of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo after July 26, 2025, any decision and action taken after this date until the Court's decision on the requests "could cause irreparable damage to the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo and the functioning of key institutions in the Republic of Kosovo."

Since its inception on April 15 until Friday, the Assembly has been meeting in an attempt to elect the speaker, without reaching the majority of at least 61 votes. /CNA
