"In 2025 Kosovo was recognized by 4 countries on 3 continents"/ Kurti:

Prime Minister Albin Kurti congratulated citizens on the New Year 2026, wishing them health, safety and well-being. He emphasized the commitment to a safe and prosperous year, built on honest work and social solidarity.

In his 2025 balance sheet, Kurti listed some of the achievements of the Republic of Kosovo in the international arena, such as recognition by 4 countries on three different continents.

He also states that the constitution will be made as soon as the results are certified by the Central Election Commission.

" The year 2025 has been a year of new recognitions. For the first time in more than ten years, four new states, spread across three different continents, recognized Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state. We begin the year 2026 with even greater zeal and with an always clear goal. As soon as the results are certified by the Central Election Commission, we will immediately constitute the Assembly, we will form the government immediately after that and, without wasting any time ," said Kurti.

We started the year with elections, we ended it with elections. Four rounds of elections in total, including a runoff round in 17 municipalities. Each was free, fair, without incident, and with results accepted by all. Kosovo no longer needs to pass the test of democracy. Kosovo is already an example of democracy.

I thank you for your commitment and understanding. I congratulate you on your high political and civic maturity. I am extremely honored for the trust you have placed in us to continue serving you as the people of this country and the country as a sovereign Republic, with dedication and precision, for the next four years.

Meanwhile, despite the challenges that only enliven and mature us as a society and as institutions, many things have gone smoothly and without obstacles.

The year 2025 has been a year of new recognitions. For the first time in more than ten years, four new states, spread across three different continents, recognized Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state.

Care and support for mothers, retirees, and students only increased.

The army was strengthened with new weapons from partner countries and NATO members. Being both a host and a participant in Defender Europe 25 is a historic moment for Kosovo.

Law and order prevailed in every corner of the Republic.

The European Union's unfair measures against Kosovo were lifted.

We begin 2026 with even greater zeal and with an ever-clear purpose. As soon as the results are certified by the Central Election Commission, we will immediately constitute the Assembly, form the government immediately thereafter, and, without wasting any time:

- we will approve the budget for next year worth 4 billion euros and the new law on ceiling prices for basic products, with which we will curb abuse and price increases;

- we will distribute the promised 13th salary to public servants in the state administration, at the beginning of the year;

- we will remove the employment restriction for Kosovo Liberation Army veterans, so that they do not have to choose between a job and state benefits;

- we will approve the Inflation Response Package 2.0, worth 200 million euros, which, in addition to children and pensioners, will benefit students, private sector workers, and families that save electricity.
