Two candidates for president are made official/Tensions at the meeting of the DP

A meeting of the Democratic Party structures was held in Shkodra, where the decision of the DPA leadership regarding the process of electing the new branch president was confirmed.

According to the decision, the elections will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, while the approved candidates are Ardit Qylybyli and Gentian Ibro.

During the meeting, the organization and progress of the electoral process was also discussed, as well as the national protest on March 12 at 10:00 in front of the Albanian Parliament in Tirana, where the structures of the Shkodra branch will participate.

The meeting was attended by the political leader of the District, Prof. Luçiano Boçi, MPs Greta Bardeli, Bardh Spahia, Kliti Hoti, and the political secretary of the branch, Besnik Kastrati.

The meeting stressed the importance of cooperation between the structures for a peaceful electoral process and an organized participation in the protest. Sources within the meeting indicate that there were heated debates and even physical clashes. /CNA
