Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi stated this evening that the SP's decision to reject SPAK's request for Belinda Balluku's immunity had been warned by the DP for three months.

On the show "The Unexposed", Këlliçi said that Prime Minister Edi Rama has turned the Socialist Party into a "shield for government corruption".

"It is a decision announced by the DP for three months. Today, the majority, the prime minister, has officially turned the SP into a shield and guarantor of government corruption. If you look at the justifications, they are ridiculous. To claim that the complaint against Balluk has a political nature and color, since it was signed by the former leader of the DP and the head of the parliamentary group, while for Mr. Berisha, he called for his immunity to be lifted, when the complainant is Taulant Balla. It cannot be called a double standard.

According to the Prime Minister, this is a political issue since the accuser is the DP. Ms. Balluku's own defenders have stated emphatically and clearly that this issue is not political in nature and we have nothing to do with political issues. This defense that Rama offered her today was not offered by her defense team either. To say that the accusation was raised for some messages found years ago, when before the Council of Regulations and Mandates, the head of SPAK and the prosecutor of the case came and said that vans are needed to bring the materials about the intimidations that have been made.

There is no legal argument, there is only paranoia that this precedent set with the suspension of Balluku, goes all the way to the Prime Minister's office.
