SPAK Report/ In 2025, 30 officials and former officials criminally prosecuted

For the period 01.01.2020-31.12.2025, a total of 81 officials and former senior officials were registered in criminal proceedings, according to the annual report of SPAK.

Within this number, 11 persons were each registered in two different criminal proceedings, while 2 persons were each registered in three different proceedings, which means that the number of registrations by proceedings is higher than the number of real individuals due to the repetition of some persons in more than one proceeding.

For 2025 alone, 19 senior officials were registered, of which 2 people were registered each in two different proceedings, reflecting the same difference between individuals and statistical registrations, according to SPAK.

During the period 1.1.2025-31.12.2025, including carried over and new proceedings, 27 criminal proceedings were investigated, in which 30 senior officials and former officials were involved. This includes:

1 Deputy Prime Minister, 1 former Speaker of the Assembly, 1 former Minister, 6 former MPs, 6 mayors, 5 former mayors, 2 former judges (one registered in two different proceedings), 1 former prosecutor, 1 Chairman of the Public Procurement Commission, 1 acting mayor, 1 director, 4 former directors (three of them registered each in two different proceedings) ./CNA
