Journalist Klodiana Lala shared more details today regarding the Albanian killed this afternoon in the Greek prison of Koridhalos.

In the show "The Unexposed", Lala revealed that Jani Aliaj had been arrested in a neighboring country with a false identity and altered appearance, which greatly impressed the authorities.

According to the journalist, Aliaj has previously had a series of clashes between two groups based in Tepelena over drug issues.

"The incident took place in Kordhialos prison in Greece, a notorious prison where people who have committed very serious crimes are serving sentences.

Jani Aliaj is from Tepelena, a very well-known character. In 2016, Jani Aliaj, according to the authorities, carried out the murder of Elton Çiço in a bar. After the incident, Aliaj left Albania. After this murder, there were several other murders related to clashes between groups. Jani Aliaj was sentenced to life imprisonment in absentia.

He was arrested in Greece, with a false identity and altered appearance. He had hair and surprised the Greek and Albanian authorities. He was in the process of being extradited to Albania, but as long as there were problems with the Greek justice system, the unresolved scores had delayed the extradition.

From the time he escaped from the Corfu prison until his arrest, he is suspected of being assassinated twice. There has been a series of incidents in the clash between two groups based in Tepelena, which have their origins in the clash over drug trafficking. 

Regarding the person who committed the murder today, according to Greek authorities, it is a convicted murderer who executed Artur Bashimi a year ago, back in prison.

For this reason, given that this is an exponent with pronounced tendencies for murder, the Greek authorities have doubts that the murder of Jani Aliaj may have been ordered by criminal groups outside the prison. Whether they are Greek or Albanian groups, this remains to be clarified by the investigations", Lala declared. /CNA
