The Constitutional Court's decision is a game played by Edi Rama

The Constitutional Court's decision is a game played by Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama, at the Socialist Party Assembly on September 11, ordered the dismissal of Erion Veliaj from the position of mayor. The Tirana Municipal Council then convened and proposed the dismissal of Erion Veliaj, a proposal which was later approved by the Council of Ministers.

Then, the President of the Republic, elected by Rama himself, decrees the date of the local elections, while Erion Veliaj had not been heard. The Constitutional Court intervenes on the merits, overturns Erion Veliaj's dismissal and reinstates him in office.

Whose game is this? Edi Rama's and no one else's. Why is it Edi Rama's? Easily Edi Rama's, because it is this Edi Rama who attacked SPAK so harshly for the arrest of Erion Veliaj.

We remember here how Klotilda Bushka cried while she was caught tampering with evidence, or how she took the rector of UBT and lectured us about democracy. While SPAK had done its duty.

The Constitutional Court's decision is nothing more than a game played by Edi Rama. Even the decision given by the Constitutional Court shows how much this court is controlled by the prime minister.

Although the journalist of the Veliaj family, Mero Baze, tells us that we have a High Court captured by the SP, Edi Rama keeps his distance. In fact, we have a Constitutional Court captured by Edi Rama and without keeping his distance at all. Moreover, from the information that CNA has, many deputies of the Socialist Party have been involved. Without talking here about the relationship between Mero Baze, Sokol Sadushi, Fatmir Xhafaj and so on.

The Constitutional Court is a captured instrument that did the best service for Erion Veliaj, who spent some time in prison and now this same court will be used to get him out of prison. While the fact is that no circumstances have changed regarding the accusations against Erjon Veliaj for corruption and committing the most serious criminal offenses, for the latter to be released. Although Edi Rama played his game until the end, the decision of the Constitutional Court is a game of Edi Rama and his alone.

For those who want to understand what the government's influence is, how is it possible that its representatives in the Constitutional Court did not request the exclusion of Marsida Xhaferllari, when her cohabitant, Enkelejd Alibeaj, came out in the media and said that the Constitutional Court should overturn the dismissal of Erion Veliaj. CNA drew attention to this scandal in its editorial.

This is a significant fact. If the exclusion of Ms. Xhaferllari, who according to the law should have been excluded, had been requested, after her cohabitant, her husband, spoke publicly and announced the decision in some way, the Constitutional Court would not have been unable to make a decision.

If the removal of Judge Xhaferllari had been requested, the Constitutional Court would have been left without a quorum and without a decision on the Veliaj case. But the government did not request the exclusion of Xhaferllari, who was caught in a conflict of interest. And beyond what Edi Rama says: "I have not caught justice and the Constitutional Court", in fact he "cheats" and milks them whenever and however he wants./ CNA
