In protest for 27 days/ Company lays off 40 more miners

The company "TETE Albania" has fired 40 miners from the Spaç mine in Mirdita after protests that have been ongoing for almost a month.

The dismissals were carried out by personal letters and come after the employees did not withdraw from their demands.

A few days ago, representatives of the Spaç miners in Mirdita and the company "TETE Albania" held a meeting mediated by the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, with the aim of finding a solution, but no agreement was reached.

The main demand was the reinstatement of unjustly dismissed miners and the beginning of negotiations to meet the workers' other demands, but it was rejected.

Underground workers are demanding better working conditions and higher wages.

Earlier, the company fired 16 miners, an action that led to an escalation of protests./ CNA
