Tirana incinerator affair/ SPAK demands 5 years in prison for Bllako

The Special Prosecution Office is seeking a 5-year prison sentence for the former Secretary General at the Ministry of Environment, Alqi Bllako, for the Tirana incinerator affair. 

Prosecutor Dritan Prençi has requested that Bllako be found guilty of passive corruption in two cases.

According to SPAK, Bllako has corruptly interfered in the conclusion of the 2017 concession contract for the "Construction of landfill, incinerator and rehabilitation of existing landfills, Tirana", between the Ministry of Environment and the concessionaire company "Integrated Energy BV SPV" sh.pk

The announcement by the Special Prosecution Office states that Bllako, who in his capacity as Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment, has benefited from the monetary value of 119,715 euros.

The former secretary of the Ministry of Environment received this money from Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri to purchase machinery for filling, closing, sealing and certifying bottles, and machinery for carbonating beverages.

If Bllako is convicted, he will receive a reduced sentence of 3.4 years in prison./ CNA
